Tour Guiding Course 2023 – Clerkenwell & Islington

Members will be aware that the Clerkenwell and Islington Guides’ Association, AKA Islington Guided Walks, hold regular guided tours around Clerkenwell and the rest of Islington. Karen Lansdown has kindly been in touch and asks if any Clerkenwell Green Preservation Society members would be interested in joining the ranks of Islington Guided Tours as qualified guides.

The Clerkenwell and Islington Guides’ Association covers the London Borough of Islington including Clerkenwell and in addition Smithfield, part of which lies in the City of London.

The Clerkenwell and Islington Guides Association welcome new applicants to become local guides. Guides must take a course which results in a Diploma in Tour Guiding from the University of Westminster or the City University which is recognised as the Mayor of Islington’s official guides. Guides also need to be paid-up members of the association and hold public liability insurance provided by the Association.
